A word from Pastor Klaisner Welcome to St. James Church, a faith community of the United Methodist Church. Honestly, If I was looking for a church, I’d come here. I love it and so does my family. My hope is that you will take time to discover what St. James has available for you and everyone who is looking for an inviting community of faith. We invite you to come as you are and to be yourself. Our goal is to provide a safe place for people to ask questions and discover the realities about God. We strive to be authentic in worship and in all of our ministries. We attempt to live what we teach and to teach what we live. We are a community church. This simply means that we have an invested interest in the lives of all residents of the Fox Cities. We believe that God has purpose for our hands and feet to serve and inspire hope to all those in our realm of influence. To that end, our message is one of love and acceptance. We know how discouraging and challenging life can be in today’s unpredictable world. God’s message of unconditional love is one that we seek to mirror on a daily basis. We are a connectional church. As part of the United Methodist denomination we are 10,000,000 strong. We are connected across the globe to many other congregations. We support global missions and have been blessed to be #6 in giving of the top ten national organizations that provided relief during hurricane Katrina. We are active in social justice issues simply meaning that we believe that all people have a right to experience the grace of God through Jesus Christ. We are a relational church. St. James seeks to help people establish valuable relationships to empower him or her with confidence to live for God every day. Through worship, teaching, study, social events, mission trips and ministry for every age group, we provide the tools that enable others to encounter Jesus Christ in a personal, practical and powerful way. Finally, I invite you to come and worship with us. Child care is provided and there is always hot coffee and a bite to eat to allow you a place to gather as you walk into what may be an unfamiliar experience. As I begin my 4th year of ministry with this congregation, I can’t think of any other community of faith where I would rather be. I hope our paths cross soon. Peace Pastor Mark Klaisner |
